Band's Name Not a Hit

The local band UUVVWWZ will be playing at the South By Southwest music festival this week. The name is pronounced "double 'u', double 'v', double 'w', 'z' " Why did they choose such a complicated name? The name is unpleasing to the ears and the pronunciation is not obvious.
