GOP Comeback
Republican Scott Brown defeated Democrat Martha Coakley in the race for the late Senator Ted Kennedy's senate position. This was not only a surprising victory, but also a major one for both parties. For Republicans, it shows they might be able to regain some control lost in the last election. Many Americans are already fed up with the decisions of Democrats recently (health care being one example). Now, with this win, Democrats no longer have the 60 votes needed to have the majority vote in the senate. Is this a sign that by the next election Republicans will again fill the majority of political positions, not only on a national scale, but on a local scale as well? I sure hope so. All I know is, Democrats should be (and probably are) a little scared of the power Republicans seem to be gaining. And with Obama's not so good approval rating, it looks like this will be an interesting year.
