Cuidad Juarez, Mexico

This city, population 1.3 million, has already had 686 homicides this year. That makes it the most dangerous city in the world, apart from war zones, and it's just near us on the Mexican/American border. Such an astounding number of homicides makes this city virtually unlivable. Residents don't go out at night and don't even answer their phones to unknown numbers to avoid extortion. I had no idea. This is startling, most definitely.
