The "lone" protestant

Once Supreme Court Justice John Stevens steps down, he will leave the court without a protestant for the first time. The remainder of the Justices are either Catholic or Jewish. Quite frankly I can't see how this is news at all. Perhaps the fact that Justice Stevens is leaving would be news, and it certainly is, but the fact that we're not gonna have a protestant in the Supreme Court is hardly an issue. I'm mentally preparing for the long summer of filibustering and attack ads Obama is sure to face, the ideological majority of the court is the last thing on my mind. It's muckraking like this that's eroding the news industry away. Seems like it's a slow news day for the World Herald.
