Digital Literacy
As a student in the Westside School district, I am all for putting computers in the hands of kids. It helps when writing papers, looking up homework after a sick day and communicating with teachers among a wide array of other things. But school districts, such as Council Bluffs public schools, need to be careful when handing out these laptops. As proven at Westside Middle School, students under the age of 12 or 13 aren't ready to handle the computers. Schools need to be careful when deciding the terms of laptop programs.
